RUNTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEM FEATURES
The Runtronic spark ignition system is provided with an electronic advance and retard circuit
for rpm
controlled ignition timing. The system generates three sparks in two degrees of crankshaft rotation up to
4000rpm and then single
spark thereafter which makes the engine easy to hand start. The engine will not
kick-back, since the ignition point is automatically
retarded at start.
No mechanical advance and retard device is needed. Total advance and retard range is up to 30 degrees stepless
variable.
Current drain is very low.
-at rest 15mA, 5V supply
-at 12,000 rpm 260mA, 5V supply
The very low standby current will not drain
batteries if left on by mistake

- for micro processor types 25,000 max
By converting larger gasoline engines,
equipped with magneto ignition systems, you can obtain:
- a smooth running engine
- higher top end rpm
- lower and more reliable idling

Runtronic spark ignition system have been designed to be extremely rugged and vibration
proof. The electronics unit has a built-in sparkcoil for single or dual output. The unit is fully encapsulated (potted).
The power
and the sensor leads are connected to a special connection PC board, mounted to metal studs in the electronic unit by means of 3 sceews.
Those mounting screews also serve as connectors to the circuits in the electronic unit. The spark plug cap and the spark plug cable
are screened for minimum interference. Screened sparkplug caps for standard size sparkplugs are available.
Changing the Runtronic
system to dual output is easily done without any soldering.
The Runtronic ignition system, using 2.4 - 4.8V power, gives sufficent
spark energy for engines with a 1/4" - 32 or 10 - 14mm spark plug. The power supply can be either dry cells or nicad. The total weight,
including power supply, can be as low as 75-85 grams(2.602 oz). The power supply is connected by means of a regular 3 pin ON /OFF
receiver type switch harness. Normal power supply is 5V (nicad) but the system will accept any supply voltage between 2.5 - 6V. All
runtronic systems are provided with reverse polarity protection.

MICROPROCSSOR OPTION FOR RUNTRONIC CDI. IGNITION SYSTEMS FEATURES:-
Exchanging the sensor for the micro-processor unit provides a digital
ignition system with great flexibility.
4 different retard and advance ranges can be selected 20, 25, 30 or 35 degrees.
3 different
fully advanced ranges can be selected 6000, 12,000 or 24,000 rpm.
2 different sensor functions can be selected, rotating magnet or
rotating vane (vane very useful for multi cylinder engines with distributors)
No kick back at first start up flip of prop due to advanced
processor.
Double spark at start and low rpm greatly enhances cold start
No spark generated turning the engine slowly, sparks are only
generated at starting speed for safety reasons.
Built in LED on indicator which also serves as ignition timing setting indicator.
Different
advance and rpm. ranges can be customised for engine manufacturers.
